The one-of-a-kind kelly green Philadelphia Eagles jacket specially made for Great Britain's Princess Diana is making a comeback.
Following decades of requests from Eagles fans and royal watchers alike, replicas of the 1990s letterman jacket Princess Di made famous on the cover of People magazine in 1994 will go on sale Thursday.
It features an old-school Eagles logo with silver sleeves, and is described by the Eagles as "Authentic. Iconic. Timeless."
In addition, the team announced it will be auctioning off one of the jackets – autographed by Pro Bowl center Jason Kelce – to raise money for the Eagles Autism Foundation.
Was Princess Diana an Eagles fan?
The connection between the Eagles and the late Princess of Wales centers around the team's green and silver colors that apparently were Diana's favorites.

ESPN ran a feature on the jacket two weeks ago when the Jacksonville Jaguars took on the Buffalo Bills in London.
The backstory is that former Eagles statistician Jack Edelstein formed a bond with Princess Diana when they met in 1992 at the funeral of Princess Grace of Monaco – former actress Grace Kelly, a Philadelphia native and family friend of Edelstein's.
According to People, Edelstein promised to send Diana some Eagles gear in her favorite colors. According to CBS News in Philadelphia, team owner Leonard Tose reportedly said, "she's a princess, you can't send her just T-shirts, we've got to do something special for this woman," according to Tose's grandaughter, Marnie Schneider.
Tose had the jacket made and delivered. The rest is history.

The jackets are set to go on sale Thursday, Nov. 9 at the Eagles Pro Shop. They will also be available for purchase online at the Mitchell & Ness and Fanatics websites.
Mitchell & Ness already has a link to purchase the jacket on its website for customers in the United Kingdom, but it was listed as "out of stock" early Thursday morning.
